IF I HAD TO TELL MY KIDS THREE THINGS, I’D SAY:

‘Eat like a caveman, train with weights in the sun, and swim in the freezing cold.’ I spent five years as a vegan because I thought it was good for me, but, actually, my health suffered. Now, I’m 49 and I’ve never had so much energy.

EATING IN THE WILDERNESS IS EASY.

I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve gnawed into half-eaten carcasses of zebra. I’ve eaten rat brain, goat testicles, yak eyeballs and snakes. That’s not for pleasure – it’s for survival, but it’s all strength-giving.

I KEEP AWAY FROM BREAD, pasta and fried food, and, wherever I am, I make sure I have eggs and a blender. It takes planning, but like anything in life, the easy options don’t lead to good places anyway.

WHAT WORKS FOR ME is training in the morning, then at 11am or 12pm I’ll eat steak, eggs, avocado and butter – I eat half a pack of butter a day and I’ve never been leaner. Or I might have liver and bacon, or fish eggs – I love those. I have a whole load with olive oil and good salt. That’s my main meal.
