TENSION
19 sts and 25 rounds to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over st st using 5mm needles 21 sts and 24 rounds to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over pattern using 5mm needles
ABBREVIATIONS
Wrap next st Slip next st from left needle to right needle, take yarn to opposite side of work between needles and then slip same st back onto left needle – when working back across wrapped sts work the wrapped st and the wrapping loop together as one st

YOKE
Worked downwards in one piece to armholes beg at neckband.
Cast on 84 (84: 84: 90: 90: 96: 96: 96: 96) sts using 4.5mm double-pointed needles and Yarn A. Taking care not to twist cast-on edge, distribute sts over 3 of the 4 needles and, using 4th needle, work in rounds as folls: Round 1 (RS) P0 (0: 0: 2: 2: 0: 0: 0: 0), K2 (2: 2: 3: 3: 2: 2: 2: 2), *P3, K3, rep from * to last 4 (4: 4: 1: 1: 4: 4: 4: 4) sts, P3 (3: 3: 1: 1: 3: 3: 3: 3), K1 (1: 1: 0: 0: 1: 1: 1: 1).
This round forms rib for neckband.
Place a red marker on first st of last round to denote centre back st and beg of rounds – slip this marker from left needle to right needle on every round.
Cont in rib until neckband meas 7cm from cast-on edge.
Next round Working in rib as set, *insert point of right needle through corresponding st on cast-on edge so that neckband folds to WS, then work this st together with next st on needle, rep from * to end.
Change to 5mm double-pointed needles.
Now working in st st (K every round), work yoke as folls:
