The Artist Magazine
12 November 2024
If you’re feeling in need of inspiration to move your artwork forward, look no further! The January 2025 issue of The Artist is packed with practical information and inspiring images to help get you reinvigorated. Several new series include the first of a monthly diary by Rodney Kingston is which he shares his experiences during his first year as a full-time artist. We are also pleased to welcome back previous editor of The Artist, Sally Bulgin, who will be revealing the daily practices of a number of today’s best-known artists, starting with our consultant editor, David Curtis. Our new Ask an Artist feature offers tips and advice for working artists; while Sarah Edmonds looks to past masters in her new History of Art series in which she brings to our attention lesser-known artworks by well-known painters. As always there are plenty of practical features too, including how to paint sunflowers in oils, tackle snowy landscapes in watercolour, bring atmosphere to your mixed media paintings, or sketch winter trees – plus information on exhibitions and events – including the launch of our TALP Open exhibition 2025 with details of how you can get involved. I hope you enjoy the issue.
