Elegantly arching lines of cables decorate this jumper, knitted in a BFL-silk blend
EMMA VINING
EMMA VINING Glenfinnan
“THIS STITCH pattern combines cables and texture to create a series of linked arches, and was inspired by an aerial view of river crossings,” explains Emma Vining. “The garter stitch texture also adds a 3D element to each arch support. The lines of the extended lower rib flow into the upper pattern of cabled arches; the scale of the arches changes from elongated shapes in the sweater’s mid section to smaller shapes for the upper section.”
NOTES
As this is a hand-dyed yarn, you may prefer to alternate between two skeins throughout the garment.
To create the front and back cable panels, the number of pattern rows worked between sets of cable patterns A and B are gradually decreased. For the upper body, patterns A and B are alternated without any additional pattern rows worked between them.
