The Pattern Pages Sewing Magazine
8 March 2024

There’s nothing better than the cold winter giving way to the sunshine of spring with longer days and new blooms. It’s time to feel uplifted and inspired, and hopefully this issue will help shake off the winter blues and re-awaken your sewing! So many talented people join us for this issue, and we have three fabulous patterns and projects for you to sew. We start with a collaboration with Georgette Patterns. Gina and Raluca are the mother-and-daughter team behind this brand (of course, we love a family-run business) and focus on innovative luxury sewing patterns. Their pattern instructions are so well written and making the Melek Twist Shirt Dress was such a satisfying sew that I think you're going to love making it too! It fits with our Quiet Luxury theme this issue, that's all about understated elegance and represents garments that will remain favourites in your wardrobe! Also, Carol Bentley shares her sewing experience of making the Ceilo Top from Closet Core Patterns. Do you ever find yourself emptying your handbag of its entire contents to find just one thing? With its numerous pockets and compartments, the Bag Organizer project will fit snugly inside to keep everything to hand! There’s lots of measuring to do but no pattern is needed for this one! Find time for yourself – kick up your feet and relax in Lindsey Rae’s fun and quick-to-sew robe. Kim Collins also joins me to talk about how to repurpose garments and textiles you already have. Other things to look forward to this time includes getting to know the types of face-framing collars in our statement style series, sewing notions you didn’t know you needed (until now!) and why some garments don’t fit you properly after sewing them! So prepare to sit back and enjoy a read!
