Laura Brown shares a few of her favourite things.
Coffee To Go
I first discovered these little nuggets of joy while on holiday in Italy many moons ago, and I make sure to stock up every time I go back.
Each chocolate is filled with espresso, so it’s like carrying around an emergency caffeinated pick-me-up – hence the name Pocket Coffee!
Cheaper than a trip to Rome is ordering them online here in the UK – Chocolate Emporium stock boxes of them.
Not eating the whole lot in one sitting can be a bit of a challenge, though!
Buy a box of 18 chocolates for £7.99 at chocolateemporium. com.
Full Of Beans
I’ve had my eye on these ceramic borlotti beans from Minnie-Mae Studio.
I love everything this designer makes, but these are particularly delightful.
They can be used as a cutlery rest if you want your objects to have a practical purpose, but I’m happy just to have them on the table for pure ornamental value.
Buy for £34.50 at minniemae.co.uk.
Seeds Of Change
I’ve been raving to every gardener I know about Seeds of Scotland, a company in the Highlands specialising in open-pollinated seeds that are chosen for their resilience and ability to grow in the Scottish climate.
I’ve been really impressed with the seeds I’ve sown so far, and I recently planted my Carter’s Polish French beans.
They’ll grow to be beautifully streaked with purple – almost too lovely to eat!
Buy a packet of vegetable seeds for £2 or £3 at seedsofscotland.com.
Something Fishy
I need to eulogise about this fish nger sandwich. It’s made by the edshank in Inverness, fine purveyors of afood.
