‘I find solace in Top Santé ’

‘I grew up reading Top Santé. Growing up, even though the world around me was strained, I loved reading the magazine and found solace in it.

Practising a healthy lifestyle used to significantly improve my depression when I was younger.

‘I received my first subscription issue of Top Santé through the door days before Christmas Eve. It came at the right time as I was spending the whole period of Christmas and New Year alone. A monthly subscription will hopefully help me back into looking after my body, rather than hurting it with alcohol, cigarettes and junk food. I’m a shadow of my younger, former self. But I’m feeling grateful and determined to make the future better. The power to improve is in us all.’

I am so touched to hear that you’ve re-discovered the magazine – and first read it when you were growing up – and that it is helping you get back on track. We all fall off the wagon but in the words of the TS manifesto (on p4), we have to leave the past in the past and take things one step at a time in the right direction. Keep staying positive and taking small steps.’

‘I’ve just come back from a lovely break at Champneys spa in Tring and enjoyed the food, so it was great to see their recipes in the February issue. I’m bored with my usual breakfast, so I tried the Kefir Granola with Berry Par fait, which was yummy, and I’ve ordered the new book too. I always enjoy your recipe features as well as the Food & Drink pages as I love to try new things. But I’m tr ying to shed a few menopausemiddle pounds, so your feature on weight was helpful. I am not very realistic sometimes, so it is good to be reminded of some of the basics.’
