ONE GOOD TURN

Wow! Wow! Wow! I have just read about the Spread a Smile charity [New Year Heroes, January]. How inspirational was that – fantastic people! I worked every Christmas when I was nursing on the wards and it was the best, so I’m now in the process of joining the wonderful charity. Thanks for the inspiration w&h.

INSPIRATIONAL RECOVERY

I can’t get Sarah’s experience out of my mind [‘Life is different but it can still be beautiful’, December]. What an inspiring woman to have gone through such a traumatic and life-changing experience and remain so positive. Thank you, Sarah.

CELEBRATING LIFE

I had such an enjoyable time reading about Fiona Phillips [January]. While she has been diagnosed with an extremely cruel disease, it was so uplifting that she is determined it will not beat her. Her message is one that too many of us can appreciate – life is very short and, despite the obstacles and hurdles that we face, we have to take every opportunity to enjoy life as much as we can.

ELIXIR OF YOUTH

I was a very small girl when w&h came to my notice and it was many years before I could afford a subscription. The free gift then was Garnier skincare in red glass jars. That started a daily routine and I believe it’s thanks to w&h that I have good skin. A woman recently mistook me for under 60, although I’m 74 – great for my ego! Having w&h drop through my door each month lifts my spirits. Thank you all.
