Sleepless tweets

Being unable to sleep is one of life’s most lonely and upsetting experiences. When it happens, we’re often desperate to tell people about it. With few options in the early hours of the morning, many of us turn to social media to vent our frustrations. And none more so than Mancunians, who live in the UK’s most sleepless city, according to an analysis of more than a quarter of a million tweets by Chemist4U. Newcastle and Oxford come second and third, but what’s to blame? Tea is the most common cause noted by tweeting insomniacs. No need to cut it out, just try and stick to the recommended cut-off time for caffeine, which is a minimum of eight hours before bed*.
