GINO’S DRUG SCANDAL
TV chef Gino D’Acampo was reportedly held at border control after he was caught possessing illegal substances. The news comes just weeks after he announced he was quitting Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip, which he had just finished filming at the time.
After he touched down from Spain and disembarked Gordon’s private jet, sniffer dogs allegedly began to circle Gino, 46. An insider revealed, ‘Fred and Gordon were pretty cross… [they] were all held for some time by Border Force.’ They continued, ‘Eventually, it was clear who the dogs were after, and Gino went away with uniformed police for questioning… a small box with some weed inside was found.’
It’s since been reported that Gino – who insisted his friendship with Gordon and Fred is ‘very strong’ – was let off with a warning and was carrying the substance for his own medicinal use.
Amanda’s revenge?
Back in 2019 she confirmed her well-documented feud with Phillip Schofield, 61, but has Amanda Holden finally got her own back?
When quizzed by her Heart FM co-host Jamie Theakston on the three things she’d hate to find in her home, Amanda said, ‘Spiders, flies and Phillip Schofield.’ And it’s no secret that she’d love to be a regular on This Morning, saying, ‘that’s the job I’d really want to be considered for’. So with recent difficult press surrounding Phil, and his forced time away from the show, could it be Amanda’s time to step in?
The Britain’s Got Talent judge presented in the absence of Holly Willoughby while she was on maternity leave in 2015, and three years later Amanda, 52, was in the running to stand in for Holly while she presented I’m a Celebrity.
But at the time it was reported that Phil petitioned for Rochelle Humes to step in instead. A TV executive claimed, ‘Phillip actively campaigned for Rochelle Humes to get the job despite Amanda being more experienced.’ They added, ‘She feels Phil unfairly used his powers of persuasion’.
Phillip described it as ‘really sad’ to read ‘such hurtful and wildly untrue stories from nameless “sources”. Obviously I’ll take it on the chin.’
In a bid to clear the air Amanda said recently, ‘I did offer to meet him for a coffee months ago’ but added, ‘He didn’t reply to my text.’
