Hello, lovely people. Are you dragging yourself through each week feeling tired and listless? Help is at hand. I’m going to flag up some reasons why this may be.

If you have poor health, your body will expend energy fighting inflammation and disease, and this can be very draining. So take steps to try and improve your health:

Food Complex carbs, such as oats, brown rice and wholemeal bread, are slow burning and provide your body with energy gently throughout the day (as opposed to a quick hit from sugary food, which may result in a wearisome slump later). Include lots of veg, some fruit and plenty of protein (lean meat, eggs, cottage cheese) to keep glucose levels constant. Three meals and one snack spaced out throughout the day will ensure that you don’t grind to a halt.

Hydration The human body is 60% water, so two-and-a-half litres of water a day will keep joints oiled, cells plumped and organs running smoothly. Add slices of cucumber and mint for flavour. Watch the caffeine, too, as this can increase dehydration (we’re talking more than five cups – have you noticed how much more you pee after a caffeinated drink?). Keep a water bottle on the go and sip throughout the day.

Movement Too tired to exercise? Just switch that around. Doing exercise will actually make you feel more alive because chemicals, like endorphins and dopamine, are released by the brain. These make you feel happy, confident and capable, which means less anxiety and less stress. What medication can do that?
