LISA SNOWDON

To help manage her menopause symptoms, TV presenter Lisa started strength training and says it’s been a ‘game changer’. Lisa, 53, said, ‘As women, we need to build muscle but it’s hard to do. I think that the misconception is that we’re going to walk out of the gym with like these huge guns, and we won’t be able to wear our nice blazers and tailoring and stuff, but in fact it’s quite hard to build muscle as a woman.’

VICTORIA BECKHAM

Weightlifting is a relatively new addition to Victoria’s workout regime too. She now focuses on lifting heavy weights five or six days a week. ‘I’ve always been a bit scared of weights, but it turns out I love them,’ Victoria, 50, admitted. ‘It’s good to switch things up and keep your body guessing. I’ve got so much more muscle tone now,’ she added.

NADIA SAWALHA

Nadia regularly shares insights into her workout routine with fans, which sees her lifting weights and working hard in the gym, but the Loose Women panellist has one regret when it comes to fitness. The star, 59, told her followers, ‘Loving weight training, wish I’d started 20 years ago!’

FRANKIE BRIDGE

Loose Women’s Frankie thanks weight training for changing the shape of her legs. The former Saturdays singer, 35, now incorporates lifting as part of her workout routine, alongside Pilates and boxing. She said, ‘A lot of people I knew did it and I’ve heard a lot about it burning fat and being good for toning. I really like it. My bum and my legs just weren’t changing before I started weight training, but now I have noticed a difference [from squatting with free weights] quite quickly.’
