I’m writing to you at 6pm and it’s still light outside. Last weekend, my lash extensions were put through their first test of the year when my eyes started streaming as I watched my son play football – signalling the arrival of the hay fever that will last until September. And my children are fascinated with the frog spawn in our garden pond – staring intently at the twitching water as tadpoles come to life.

Yes, spring has most definitely sprung. It’s my favourite season; when the dark mornings make way for daylight and birdsong, we breathe a collective sigh of relief and you can feel the positivity in the air. And it’s with a renewed sense of motivation that I’m looking forward to what the rest of 2023 has to offer.

If improving your health is your goal (of course it is, you’re reading Women’s Health), this month’s magazine is a belter of an issue. I like to think I’m a walking, talking wellness encyclopaedia; someone whose fitness knowledge could rival that of a personal trainer, who could nail a pub quiz round on nutrition. But I’ve been humbled by how much I’ve learned from these pages this month.
