The October issue of AW is a marathon special featuring an exclusive interview with the man of the moment – world record-holder Eliud Kipchoge. We look at how the Kenyan lowered his mark in Berlin once again, how he is having an impact on the sport which few other can currently match and why he can run even faster over 26.2 miles in future. There is also a 10-page special looking back on an eventful staging of the London Marathon, which still produced a string of fascinating stories in spite of a number of athlete call-offs, while our exclusive extract from the new book by international athlete Roger Robinson tells the tale of the 1908 Olympic race which turned the marathon into a global phenomenon. Away from the roads, it has been an eventful year on the track for Ciara Mageaan and the European and Commonwealth 1500m silver medallist explains how finding success has challenged her like never before.
