1 SHAPESHIFTERS – FLATTER YOUR FACE

‘Eyebrows are a powerful tool and can influence the character of your face,’ explains Hayley Walker, Justmylook.com beauty expert. ‘The best shape depends on the shape of your face,’ which Hayley shares as follows:

Oval faces need minimal manipulation. Add a slight arch for a soft, natural finish.

Round faces should aim for a sharper, lifted arch and lengthened tail to create structure.

Squares are flattered by a high, curved arch to soften hard angles.

Heart shapes can be complimented by rounded shapes, with a soft arch to dilute a longer chin.

FAKE IT YOURSELF

Serums with hair-growth claims are an expensive option, but while your kitchen cupboard won’t hold any miracle products, there are options to help improve the condition of your brows. Coconut and olive oil will have nourishing properties, so dip a clean mascara wand into a drop of oil and comb through, before cleaning off in the morning. Vaseline is also a good choice to help relieve any signs of flaky skin in the area. However if you’ve tinted your brows, avoid any oily products that could wear down the pigment.

2 HOW TO PICK YOUR PRODUCTS:

Brows have their very own beauty category these days! Choosing the right product depends on your needs: Pencil: Like eyeliner, but waxier and not as pigmented, or brows will look too dramatic. Great for adding definition. Try Make-up Revolution Fluffy Brow Filter Duo, £7.99.

Pomade: Sold in a pot, the oily, waxy formula is great for adding texture to sparse brows. Try if you prefer a bold effect. We like 17 Brow Pomade, £5.

Choosing your shade: Try a shade lighter, in a cool tone. Anything too dark and warm may look unnatural.
