These three cover stories form part of our celebrations this year for GAY TIMES Honours 2020. Of course, we’d have liked to have brought you all together for a huge event like we’d initially planned back in early 2020, but we’re going to have to wait a little longer until it’s safe enough to do so. That being said, there was no way we could let the moment pass without recognising some truly inspiring individuals and organisations. From youth work, activism and vital support, to representation, empowerment, and elation, our Honourees have bettered the lives of LGBTQ+ people across the world. They have provided hope for those who have needed it during a challenging time. But most importantly, they have brought us joy. Their work has brightened up our lives, despite the circumstances we find ourselves in. We can’t promise a better 2021, but what we do know is that no matter how uncertain things may feel, there will always be queer joy to be found.
