T he King and Queen have been crowned in a spectacular coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey, uniting their subjects in a joyful occasion that delighted the world.

A royal powerhouse in public and perfect partners in private, the couple possess the ideal characteristics to carry both the monarchy and the nation smoothly into a new royal era.

The dynamic duo, who have known each other for over five decades and recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary, share a harmonious relationship that will be the bedrock of the King’s reign.

“They’re just the right fit,” Dickie Arbiter, the late Queen’s former press secretary and author of On Duty with the Queen, tells HELLO!. “Camilla is her own person and so is Charles, but they’re there for each other one hundred per cent.

“No matter where they go, they’re happy to display their feelings for each other and share a joke in public, and this affects how they’re perceived. Showing their love for one another in their 70s is endearing – people like it.

“They’re not standoffish,” Dickie continues. “On walkabouts, they’re very relaxed and smile a lot. Charles is a people person: people reach out to him and he reaches back. The day after his mother died, he and Camilla did a 12-minute walkabout outside Buckingham Palace to greet well-wishers who offered their condolences.

“Charles has always been his own man, but with Camilla by his side, he’s a happier person, which is good for him, the country and the Commonwealth.”

ENDURING BOND

Indeed, whenever the couple appear together in public, the happiness they share is tangible. Whether exchanging a knowing look or a smile during official engagements, they have a rapport that is plain to see. And they bring out the best in each other: Camilla, 75, through her natural ease, warmth and sense of humour, and Charles, 74, with his loyalty, respect and deep affection.
