It was all white on the night for the stars of The Crown as they gathered to celebrate the grand finale of the hit series last week. Elizabeth Debicki and Emma Corrin, who have both played Princess Diana in the critically acclaimed Netflix drama, shared a moment on the red carpet.

In a touching homage to the Princess, Emma’s white tuxedo jacket offered a modern twist on an outfit Diana wore in 1985, while Elizabeth opted for a sparkling sequin haute couture dress by Christian Dior.

The two actors were joined at London’s Royal Festival Hall by other cast members before the second part of The Crown’s sixth and final season is released on 14 December. The first part followed the eight weeks before the death of Diana, while the second group of episodes covers the blossoming romance between Prince William and Kate Middleton – now Prince and Princess of Wales – who met and fell in love while studying at St Andrews University.

Their roles are being played by newcomers Meg Bellamy and Ed McVey, with both attending last week’s event alongside Luther Ford as Prince Harry. Dressed in a full-length white Valentino gown, Berkshire-born Meg, 21, who auditioned for the role shortly after finishing her A-levels, said: “It’s about taking each day as it comes so that I can soak up all of this excitement.”
