The Duchess made a trip to Melbourne, Australia, and made a speech at the Global Citizen NOW: Melbourne & Global Citizen Nights.
She was co-chair of the summit which is dedicated to ending extreme poverty.
She said, “I love the energy and enthusiasm of young people, and I care deeply about the issues that Global Citizen is focused on: defeating poverty and defending the planet.”
THE DUKE OF KENT
Even though he is one of the oldest members of the royal family, The Duke of Kent, 88, attended a Service of Thanksgiving to mark 200 years of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution at Westminster Abbey on Monday in his role as President of the RNLI.
THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF EDINBURGH
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were on top form during a visit to Staffordshire on Tuesday as they took part in a sparring session with young boxers at the Right Stuff Amateur Boxing Club, before going on to meet members of the open house community group for over 65s at the Rising Brook Community Church.
On Wednesday, Prince Edward paid a special visit to Freewheelers and Surrey Hills Community Radio where he took part in performances and co-presented a radio show which aired on his 60th birthday on Sunday.
Sophie and Edward, President of the Sports and Recreation Alliance, were in Leeds on Friday where they attended the Community Sport and Recreation Awards at Headingley Stadium. The couple hugged after Sophie gave a speech on International Women’s Day. The Duchess and the Duke, as Patron of Northern Ballet, then attended a performance of Romeo & Julietat Leeds Grand Theatre and an Ability rehearsal at Northern Ballet Headquarters.

Despite continuing his treatment for cancer, the King had a busy week and carried out a number of official meetings.
