CUTTING GUIDE

For all variations:
Front:
cut two

Back: cut one on the fold

Sleeve: cut two
Pocket: cut two

Collar band Cut two strips to the dimensions given below: XS: 13cm x 79 cm for jacket, 1.1m for knee length, 1.4m for long length

S: 13cm x 82cm for jacket, 1.2m for knee length, 1.5m for long length

M: 13cm x 84cm for jacket, 1.6m for knee length, 1.5m for long length

L: 13cm x 86cm for jacket, 1.2m for knee length, 1.5m for long length

XL: 13cm x 88cm for jacket, 1.2m for knee length, 1.5m for long length

Belt: To determine how long to cut the belt piece, take a length of cord or ribbon and tie it around your waist. Decide how long you want the ties to hang and cut the cord to the appropriate length. Measure the cord, add 2.5cm for seam allowance and 13 to 23cm for the knot, depending on how heavy your fabric is (13cm for lightweight fabrics, 23cm for heavier fabrics). Cut one strip of fabric 13cm wide by your desired length.

A chopstick or knitting needle can be helpful to push the corners out on the belt

1 Download and print the pattern at sewmag.co.uk, then transfer the pattern markings and follow the cutting guide. For variations 2 and 3, fold under 1.3cm on the top edge of the pocket and press. Fold under another 5cm and press. Topstitch close to the first fold. Fold under 1.3cm on the sides and bottom of the pocket and press.

2 Pin a pocket to each front at the markings. Topstitch in place along the sides and lower edge, backstitching at the beginning and end to secure. With right sides together, sew the fronts to the back at the shoulder. Press the seams open. With right sides together, pin each sleeve to the front/back, matching the shoulder seam to the notch on sleeve, and stitch. Press the seam towards the sleeve.
