■ Stylecraft Special DK (100% acrylic, 100g/295m) 1 ball each in
Yarn A Kelly Green (1826)
Yarn B Lipstick (1246)
Yarn C Mustard (1823)
Yarn D Cream (1005)
Yarn E Grass Green (1821)

■ A pair of 5.5mm needles

■ 2 locking stitch markers

TENSION

14 sts and 23 rows to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over stocking stitch using 5.5mm needles with yarn held DOUBLE

MEASUREMENTS

To fit a 2 pint (6-8 cup) teapot

ABBREVIATIONS

Flower stitch Slip next 3 sts from LH needle onto the RH needle letting extra wraps unwind, bring working yarn between needles to front of work, slip same 3 sts back to LH needle, take yarn to back of work between needles, slide same 3 sts back to RH needle

Make Bobble (MB) Knit into front, back, and then front again of next st on LH needle, turn, sl 1, P2, turn, sk2po

SCARF TEA COSY

Notes Divide all yarns into two balls before you begin (or locate both ends of the ball) so that the yarn can be used held double.

MAIN COSY (MAKE 2)

Cast on 16 sts using 5.5mm needles and Yarn A held double.

Row 1 (RS) Kfb, K1, *P1, K1; rep from * to end. [1 st inc’d]

Row 2 P1, *K1, P1; rep from * to end.

Row 3 Kfb, *P1, K1; rep from * to end. [1 st inc’d]

Row 4 *P1, K1; rep from * to end.

Rows 5 to 11 Rep Rows 1 to 4 twice. [22 sts]

Break Yarn A and join Yarn B held double.

Row 13 Kfb, knit to end. [1 st inc’d]

Row 14 Knit.

Rows 15 to 16 Rep Rows 13 to 14. [24 sts] Break Yarn B and join Yarn C held double.

Row 17 Kfb, K23. [25 sts]

Rows 18 to 26 Starting on a WS purl row, work in st st.

Break Yarn C and join Yarn D held double.

Row 27 Knit.

Row 28 *Knit in next st wrapping yarn around needle twice; rep from * to last st, K1.

Row 29 K1, *Flower stitch; rep from * to end.

Row 30 Knit.

Break Yarn D and join Yarn E held double.

Rows 31 to 35 Starting on a RS knit row, work in st st.

Row 36 P18, turn leaving rem 7 sts unworked.

Row 37 Sl 1, K17.

Row 38 P11, turn leaving rem 14 sts unworked.

Row 39 Sl 1, K10.

Row 40 Purl to end.
