■ Scheepjes Terrazzo (DK, 70% wool, 30% viscose, 50g/175m)

For yarn quantities and measurements see size table

■ 1 pair 3.25mm needles

■ 1 pair 3.75mm needles

■ 1 pair 4mm needles

For larger sizes you may prefer to use circular needles (still working back and forth in rows), due to the large number of sts

TENSION

22 sts and 28 rows to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over st st using 4mm needles

COLOURWORK JUMPER

BACK AND FRONT

Note When working from Charts right side rows are K rows and read from right to left, Wrong side rows are P rows and read from left to right.

Use separate balls of yarn for each area of colour and twist yarns on wrong side to avoid a hole. Use small separate lengths of Yarn C to work the vertical lines or work the background colour, then Swiss darn the vertical lines.

SLEEVES

Note When working the Sleeves, use the stranded colourwork method.

BACK

Cast on 110 (122: 134: 146: 158: 170: 182: 194) sts using 3.75mm needles and Yarn A.

Rib Row 1 K2, (P2, K2) to end.

Rib Row 2 P2, (K2, P2) to end.

These 2 rows form the rib.

Work a further 10 rows, inc 1 st at centre of last row. [111 (123: 135: 147: 159: 171: 183: 195) sts]

Change to 4mm needles. Beg with a K row, work in st st from Body Chart as folls: Row 1 Beg on st 5 (14: 8: 2: 11: 5: 14: 8), patt 10 (1: 7: 13: 4: 10: 1: 7) sts before patt rep, (work 30 st patt rep) 3 (4: 4: 4: 5: 5: 6: 6) times, patt 11 (2: 8: 14: 5: 11: 2: 8) sts after patt rep. You should end on st 55 (46: 52: 58: 49: 55: 46: 52) of Body Chart.

Row 2 Beg on st 55 (46: 52: 58: 49: 55: 46: 52), patt 11 (2: 8: 14: 5: 11: 2: 8) sts before patt rep, (work 30 st patt rep) 3 (4: 4: 4: 5: 5: 6: 6) times, patt 10 (1: 7: 13: 4: 10: 1: 7) sts after patt rep. You should end on st 5 (14: 8: 2: 11: 5: 14: 8) of Body Chart. These 2 rows set the Body Chart.

Cont in patt until Back measures 51 (52: 54: 55: 57: 58: 60: 61)cm from cast-on edge, ending after a WS row.

SHAPE SHOULDER AND BACK NECK

Next row Cast off 7 (8: 9: 10: 11: 12: 13: 14) sts, patt until there are 32 (36: 40: 44: 48: 52: 56: 60) sts on your right needle, skpo, turn and work on these 33 (37: 41: 45: 49: 53: 57: 61) sts for first side of neck shaping.
