CUFF INNER
Using 2.25mm circular needles, 60cm long, and yarn A, cast on 64 sts. Pm and join to work in the round, taking care not to twist sts.
Round 1: Knit to end.
Rounds 2 to 16: Rep round 1.
Round 17: Purl to end.
Fasten off yarn A, join in yarn B.
CUFF OUTER
Round 1: Knit to end.
Round 2: Purl to end.
Fasten off yarn B, join in yarn C.
Round 3: Knit to end.
Round 4: Purl to end.
Fasten off yarn C.
Change to 2.75mm needles. Join in yarns D and yarn E.
Work rounds 1 to 9 from Chart A, working the 32-st rep twice across the round. Fasten off yarns D and E. Join in yarn C.
Round 10: Knit to end.
Round 11: Purl to end.
Fasten off yarn C. Join in yarn F.
Round 12: Knit to end.
Round 13: Purl to end.
Fasten off yarn F. Join in yarn A.
Round 14: Knit to end.
Round 15: Purl to end.
Fasten off yarn A.
Join in yarns G and yarn E. Work rounds 1 to 13 from Chart B, working the 32-st rep twice across the round. Fasten off yarns G and E. Join in yarn A.
Round 14: Knit to end.
Round 15: Purl to end.
Fasten off yarn A. Join in yarn F.
Round 16: Knit to end.
Round 17: Purl to end.
Fasten off yarn F. Join in yarn B.
Round 18: Knit to end.
Round 19: Purl to end.
Fasten off yarn B.
MAIN MITTEN
Join in yarns E and C. Work rounds 1 to 14 from Chart C, working the 32-st rep twice across the round.
PLACE THUMB
Right hand only Slip first 3 sts on to right needle, using waste yarn knit next 9 sts. Slip 12 sts on right needle back onto left needle.
Left hand only Slip the last 13 sts from prev round onto left needle, using waste yarn knit first 9 sts, slip the next 4 sts on left needle back onto right needle.
MAIN MITTEN CONT
Cont work from Chart C until round 30 is completed. Work rounds 15 to 30 once more.
SHAPE TOP
Right hand only Keeping pattern correct work rounds 1 to 15 from Chart D, decreasing on every alt round until 32 sts remain. Work round 16. 30 sts.
Left hand only Keeping pattern correct work rounds 1 to 15 from Chart E, decreasing on every alt round until 32 sts remain. Work round 16. 30 sts.
Arrange sts over two needles so there are 15 sts on each, and graft rem sts together.
THUMB
Insert 2.25mm needle through 9 sts at lower edge of waste yarn, then insert 2.25mm needle through 9 sts at upper edge of scrap yarn. 18 sts. Remove waste yarn.
