It’s easy to think that, as we grow older, our bodies become less efficient and start to deteriorate. But there are plenty of things we can do as we approach our later years that will help us maintain our health, happiness, fitness and wellbeing.

What’s more, they don’t have to involve gym memberships, surgical procedures or pricey retreats, which is a plus if you’re concerned about the current cost of living. Here are some tips to show you how to start living your best life – no matter what age you are.

Yoga increases flexibility and strength, which decreases injury risk. It can also help reduce depression, blood pressure and anxiety.

6 Apply sunscreen

UVA and UVB rays can damage your skin, even when it’s overcast. Wear at least SPF 30 every day, including in the winter, to reduce wrinkles and protect against skin cancer.

7 Keep learning

Old brains are just as capable as young minds. Try something with complexity, such as dancing, taking up a craft or starting a new hobby.

8 Be thankful
