Hey! You there! Did you read that thing on the cover that had the word ‘marathon’ in it, and thought that it wasn’t aimed at you? Hopefully you’ve picked this up anyway and thought there’s enough brilliant stuff in it to keep you entertained and motivated while you do the running that you do, and you can just skip over the whole marathon section. And of course, that’s a fair point, as Women’s Runningis always packed with amazingness. But you’d be missing out if you didn’t also read that feature.

I totally hear you. I mean, if I picked up a fitness mag and saw a coverline about ski-jumping, it’s not the first bit I’d turn to. But the thing about running – about our sort of running – is that pretty much every page in this magazine you’re holding is applicable to every runner.

Take that marathon feature on P30. This was created to help women who want to run a marathon find out other ways to support their training alongside all this running nonsense. But every bit of advice in there is just as applicable to women who aren’t training for a marathon – maybe you’re eyeing up a multi-stage trail ultra, or maybe it’s a half marathon, or maybe you want to shave seconds off your 5K PB, or you want to run comfortably three times a week. Perhaps you just dream of running comfortably full-stop.

If that’s you, these ideas are also going to help you. While there’s nothing outlandish in there, there might be something you’ve not yet
