Yarn and materials n Valley Yarns Becket (50% wool, 50% alpaca) worsted (aran) weight; 141yd (129m) per 3½oz (100g) ball
■ Natural 01 (A); 2 balls n Daruma Iroiro Roving (100% wool) worsted (aran) weight; 24yd (22m) per ¾oz (20g) ball
■ Baby Pink 104 (B); 1 ball n Cloudy Sky 114 (C); 1 ball n Apricot 106 (D); 1 ball Needles & equipment
■ US 8 (5mm) circular needles suitable for working in the round
■ 1 round marker n 4 stitch markers
■ Tapestry needle
■ US 8 (5mm) crochet hook
■ Small pompom maker or card circles
TENSION
■ 4 sts and 28 rounds = 4in (10cm) square over garter stitch, using US 8 (5mm) needles.

Cloud base
Using A, cast on 40 sts using long tail method.
Work in garter st with twisted edge selvedge as foll: Row 1: Sl1p wyif, k to end of row.
Rep Row 1 till work measures 1½in (4cm).
Pick up sts around base as foll:
K to end, pick up and k5 sts along short edge of base, pick up and k40 sts along cast-on edge, pick up and k5 sts along second short edge of base, so that needle tips are meeting, ready to continue working in round. (90 sts)
PM and p to end of round. Marker is at front right side of cloud.
