We subject enduring Nazi myths and legends to a critical review The Nazis mixed politics with superstition, ancient myths and occult rituals, keeping the doors of the rooms where important decisions were made firmly closed. All inquiring and critical voices were silenced in the dictatorship state, whose leader became increasingly paranoid, taking several decisions that were both cruel and deranged. This secrecy and lack of openness has given rise to numerous legends about the Nazis, Hitler and the Third Reich. Did the Fuhrer really die in his bunker, or did he manage to escape to Argentina? What became of the Nazis’ stolen gold? And did Nazi Germany manage to develop an atomic bomb?
