PlantBased Magazine

I always try and find something to love in every month of the year, but August makes it especially easy. We have a lovely bank holiday to look forward to, the sun is shining, and everyone feels a little lighter; there’s a spring in our step as we soak up all that glorious vitamin D! We’ve packed our pages with more great foodie inspiration for you this month, starting with the delicious Tofish and Chips recipe from our cover. We decided to celebrate the best of British recipes in this issue, and what better place to start than with this seaside favourite. Since Seaspiracy arrived on Netflix earlier this year, many people who hadn’t even thought about going vegan before have started to question how their choices are impacting the future of our oceans. So now is the perfect time to show how we can enjoy traditional meals like ‘fish’ and chips without hurting anyone. I’m also really excited by the cheese recipes we’re sharing this month. Cheese is the one thing that many people say they struggle to give up when they are thinking about a plant-based diet, but it doesn’t have to be too hard. Check out our homemade cheese ideas, as well as a bunch of recipes that make it the star. Our summer fruits recipes are using up all of those juicy berries and seasonal fruits that are plentiful at this time of year, and because those temperature are (hopefully) soaring, we’re sharing some salad recipes that are perfect when you want something light and healthy on a summer evening. And finally, we’re keeping everyone happy with a selection of family favourites: think burgers, carbonara, stir-fry and a bacon sandwich! Have a great month, and I’ll see you here again in September (where is the year going?).
