Happy New Year! Welcoming a new year brings with it all sorts of promise; even if you don’t enjoy the idea of making resolutions, there’s no doubt that January 1st gives us all a feeling of a fresh start, and we can look ahead to the rest of the year and hope for good things. Of course, in the vegan world, January means Veganuary! I’m always so excited at this time of year; not only are we blessed with lots of new product launches, but we get to welcome a whole new bunch of people who are realising that the future is plant-based. If you’re a Veganuary 2022 participant and you’re picking up PlantBased for the first time, welcome! I hope you find plenty of inspiration and guidance in these pages. The best way to advocate for veganism, I believe, is to provide cynics with tasty plant-based food, to convince them that anything they can do, we can do vegan! That’s why I love putting this magazine together each month; filling the pages with great ideas that will suit everyone from brand new vegans to those who have been at it for years. There are over 60 recipes in this issue – we’ve got everything from healthy breakfast ideas to snacks that will fill you up while you wait for your next delicious meal. We’re sharing a bunch of recipes that will help you on your way to 5-a-day, and some hearty soups for anyone who is after a warm hug in a bowl during these dark days of winter.
