TAKE 5 INGREDIENTS

A suitably monstrous-looking treat for Halloween – and far healthier than the usual bucketloads of sweets and chocolate!

Quarter 2 Granny Smith apples and trim off the core from each piece. Using a small sharp knife, cut a small wedge from the rounded side of the apple pieces to create a mouth, making sure that the apple still holds together. Taking about 2 tbsp smooth nut butter in all, spoon a little into each ‘mouth’, making sure not to overfill. Cut 2 strawberries into 4 slices each and press into the nut butter as ‘tongues’. Push the pointed end of a few pumpkin seeds into the top of the mouth as ‘teeth’, then add edible eye decorations, securing them with a small dab of nut butter on the back.
