Download the pattern at sewmag.co.uk, then print out and follow the cutting guide. Follow the cutting guide, transfer all pattern notches and markings to the fabric with a disappearing marker. Cut a 16cm length from the grab handle and straps fabric. Press, then iron fusible interfacing to the wrong side. With the strap fabric wrong side up, fold the fabric in half lengthways and iron the centre crease. Open out and fold the long edges of the fabric to the centre crease and iron. Fold the whole strap in half lengthways again. Press the folded strap and pin along the long open edge. Topstitch along both long edges of the strap.

Press the bag strap fabric, then iron fusible interfacing to the wrong side. Wrong side up, fold both short edges in 1cm and iron the crease. Fold the strap so that it resembles a book cover. Wrong side up, fold the fabric in half lengthways and iron the centre crease. Open out and fold the long edges of the fabric to the centre crease and iron. Fold the whole strap in half lengthways again. Press, then pin along the long open edge. Topstitch all around the strap. Divide into two equal lengths and set aside.

Place both handle loop fabric pieces right sides together, match all edges and stitch along both long edges with a 5mm seam allowance. Iron the seams open and turn to the right side. Divide into two equal lengths and thread a rectangular ring onto each of the handle loops. Take one of the folded handle loops with a ring attached and place it onto one of the main body exterior back handle loop pattern markings. The ring should point away from the bottom edge and the raw edges of the handle loop and the bottom edge of the fabric should match. Hold the handle loop in place and stitch to the bag exterior back with a 5mm seam allowance. Repeat with the other handle loop.

Thread the straps through the handle loop rings before stitching onto the bag back fabric. Attach the handle loops, with D-rings attached, to the side seam of the bag. Take the strap wrong side up and thread one end of the strap through the centre bar of the slider. Pull the strap end so it is free from the slider, pin and stitch the
