My daughter had pain and double vision and then her eye started to bulge. What was happening to her?

My 18-year-old daughter, Luanna, sat with her head in her hands.

‘I can’t believe I’ve got another headache,’ she groaned.

She’d been experiencing horrific headaches, plus dizziness and sickness.

So I went with her to the GP, who diagnosed vertigo and gave her anti-sickness tablets.

But the headaches got worse, and Luanna complained of double vision. Then she started veering to the right when she walked.

The GP topped up her vertigo medication, but it didn’t help. Then, just a few weeks later Luanna’s right eye started bulging — around an inch and a half — out of its socket.

I rushed her to Specsavers, and after a scan the optician referred her to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.

She had an eye test and was booked in for an MRI in a few days’ time.

‘There’s some pressure on Luanna’s brain which is why her eye looks like that,’ a doctor explained.

But by that afternoon Luanna could barely stand, and I rushed her back for an emergency CT scan. It revealed something shocking. ‘She’s got three brain tumours,’ the doctor said, pointing at three dark shapes on the scan.
