SEX SELLS – AND GWYNETH IS CASHING IN

But are we talking about our bedroom antics a bit too much?

Not too long ago, if an actor made a video extolling the virtues of inserting a lump of jade or quartz into your vagina, you’d know exactly what kind of films she made. And it wouldn’t be Hollywood blockbusters. Fast forward to now and that’s just one of the very graphic sex tips Hollywood A-lister and Oscarwinner Gwyneth Paltrow has offered us via her insanely popular Goop website.

You know the one, it’s the site that’s famous for flogging candles scented like her orgasms and vagina. She’s also advocated steam cleaning your inner lady bits by squatting over something suspiciously like a steam iron. It’s not by the way, so don’t try this at home. Not content with the millions Goop already makes her, though, Gwynie has also recently launched an Instagram page all about her passions for baking and gardening.

Nah, just kidding. It’s all about sex of course. It’s called Goopsex and is dedicated to those ‘in pursuit of pleasure’.

Seriously I’m no prude but some of the stuff on there is eye popping to say the least. Just in case you weren’t quite sure how to use Paltrow’s own brand £76 double-sided wand vibrator, Goopsex comes with illustrated instructions.

It also tells you more about her female libido-boosting supplement called DTF. And what the DTF stands for. Which is evidently Down To, er, very rude word beginning with F, often gets autocorrected to duck.

And this is the girl who made Shakespeare in Love? It’s brilliant we can all talk about sex more easily now, but have we gone too far with the oversharing? Have we crossed the very fine line between making love and making porn?

What category would you put footage of a semi-naked woman masturbating in? In Paltrow’s Netflix docuseries The Goop Lab a woman sat down with sex educators Betty Dodson and Carlin Ross and did just this.

On the upside, unlike porn, Gwyneth uses real women to demonstrate and talk about her products and services. They have stretch marks, real boobs and even, gasp, body hair.

The downside, though, is it can still leave you feeling inadequate. What if you’re too knackered with work, the kids, caring for elderly relatives, ill health to even wonder how another woman’s partner can bring you to orgasm by simply waving his hands over your body? (Yes, there’s a video for this too).

Let alone wonder what shooting pure oxygen up
